CBC Radio 3 | Music and Modern Media

Got an email from a friend of mine just a moment ago. She's a photojournalist and she's now back in Iraq to cover the transfer of power back to the Iraqis in the coming weeks. There is a story about her and her experience in Iraq here. Just click on "Farah's War". She's an amazing photographer and her work has a wonderful intimacy about it. Very moving stuff, in a very simple way. Enjoy.
You can also find her website (and more beautiful photos) here. Just mind the non-intuitive flash navigation, it gets a little annoying...

Wow...wow. Thanks for posting the links to Farah's photos and essay, Ry. Her photos are amazing, I can see what you mean about that intimacy she creates. In her web site she has three that I was so moved by, the one of the old lady, with her hair being blown by the fan, and two near the very end, the young girl with a white earring and patches of sunlight on her face, looking straight at Farah, and the beautiful woman leaning back on her chair, looking at the camera again. The connection in all the pictures was so strong though. They are so powerful, so human. The most sensitive images of the war on Iraq that I've seen. I was so moved.
