Day in the glamorous life of docu-film-maker in Israel:
3am: alarm goes off. Since you've only been asleep for 2 hours, you assume the alarm is for someone else. You go back to sleep.
3:15am: In your sleepy stupor, you realize that you live alone, there is no one else. You get up.
3:45am: You carry all of your video gear halfway up a mountain, in the dark, to set up your camera. The camera will stay there for the next 18 hours, recording a few frames every minute, so that you can compress an entire day, ultimately, into just a few seconds. Whatever you do, don't move the camera.
4am: Your co-worker goes back to bed. She'll be back in five hours to relieve you.
5:30am: It's very cold.
5:31am: When you get up to walk around a little so that you don't catch pnemonia, don't let the Jackal that's sneaking up behind you scare you to death.
5:32am: look very carefully to make sure that the Jackal that is sneaking up behind you isn't, in fact, part of a pack of Jackals. When you realize it isn't, give the not-so-scary-anymore Jackal a dismissive wave of your hand and watch him run away.
5:55am: Watch the impressive sunrise.
6am - 9am: try your best not to fall asleep and fall off your chair while waiting for the sun to defrost your chilled limbs.
9am: your co-worker comes to relieve you so you can go and have some breakfast.
10:30am:After a hearty breakfast of tea and baklava go downstairs and blog about your day, even though it's not even half over. begin to dread 1pm when you'll have to go and relieve your co-worker.
